NM7s 2012Valhall is fast approaching and many clubs hold a strong focus on 7s rugby! As the organizer of the NM VIIs 2012, Bergen Rugbyklubb is committing enough resources to this project to ensure that all teams are met with a competitive, fun, fair, and well organized NM7s tournament on the weekend of 23rd June, Week 25.

Last year there was a large focus on competitiveness as there was an opportunity to win the prestigious “Kongepokal” – or Kings Trophy. This year will hopefully be no different!

As most organizers are well aware of, the most important ingredient to a successful tournament is participation of its competitors. Even though we are in the blueprint stages of the NM7s it is important to let teams around Norway know that things are in motion.

In Stavanger, we saw an increase in junior involvement in the NM7s which was extremely positive. This year we will be hold a Junior Norway training camp along with the tournament, hopefully adding further incentives for the future of Norwegian rugby to take charge on the field.

The Ladies’ tournament will of course represent the culmination of the 7s season but also provides an open invitation for all ladies teams in Norway to step up and prove they are the best.

We are of course hoping of a return of all last year’s teams, but also participation from the ones who did not make it! More information will be sent out closer to the date.

Lastly, I wish you all a good start to your season!
