7 of the Oslo players arrived about 20 min before kickoff, and their warm up was obviously short and pretty stressed. The first game against Trondheim was played 8-a-side due to lack of numbers! But for Oslo, something happened. Everything they trained for just fell into place! Oslo won with big smiles on! 39-0. Some Oslo players were lent to Trondheim so they could be 10 against the Bergen Team, BSI Rugby. "Bergen won that game, but with difficulties" said ORK Captain Pauline Sarg. Then it was time for the big match against Bergen. "The play we had in the game against Trondheim just got better! A minimum of dropped balls and missed passes! And a defensive line that was unbreakable" said Sarg. Bergen didn't score at all in that game. For Oslo it was about taking the steps up from the tournament in Ekeberg, where the games between Bergen and Oslo were very tight! After two games, Oslo was already tired and it was harder to win the second match against Trondheim, but the hardest was still to come; the last game against BSI Rugby, the most important. Bergen scored three times but Oslo scored even more, 5 to be exact. "It was a team day! We had a few tries coming from brilliant thinking from our back-line when the forwards won defensive scrums and line-outs. And there were offloads on offloads that ended in tries, and there were mauls driven 10-15 meters to get the ball over the try line" said the Oslo captain. The tries came from both experienced and new players, the decision making was as it should be. it was Oslo day! In this tens tournaments, and probably also in the previous one, Oslo was the best, and maybe we could simply say that the best Norwegian tens team is Oslo Rugbyklubb (ORK). "If we can keep training and keep the same core in the team, we'll be very dangerous for the rest of the teams in norway next season" said Pauline Sarg. Congratulations to Oslo Rugbyklubb women who are Norwegian 2011 tens champion. ORK SquadPauline Sarg - captain |
