riga 2011Norway is taking it easy in Latvia for the 2011 European Championship. We expected Norway to do well in division 3, but apart from one only unconvincing victory over Hungary, Norway did not play harder than for a Sunday afternoon touch rugby session.

Norway looked like a team playing rugby for the first time after having read the Rugby Manual. In 7s, it is “cool” to step back to create gaps and take it. Norway is trying too hard to be cool. Never going to contact, never going forward, never even passing the ball while running, Norway looked like a team that did not really want to play.

Apart from a few individual good actions, Norway is not a threat to any teams at that stage. Norway is sterile.

All Cup ambitions are of course gone, but tomorrow Sunday, Norway have one more chance to play the Plate semi-finale and fight for a 5th position in this division. Norway must beat Bulgaria. This will not be an easy task, but that is a MUST DO to not see Norway at the bottom of the European Ranking.

See you tomorrow!

Not helpful at all. Criticism is fair. But this article takes it way too far. I was there, i saw the effort. And some of these comments are rude and simply unfair. There was a lot of effort and heart put in by the boys, but it just didn´t click this time. Thanks for making us feel like crap!

Totally agree with sam ,this article is just a shame ,it s like the author took pleasure to put the norwegian team down,it doesn t help for the progress of the norwegian rugby.

Well guys, the expectation were quite big for people watching you all week end. You were ranked 4/5th of the division before the competition so we all though you would make it to the cup...... Yesterday's article show all the support you have, I think you may have a bit overreacted......
