Graham Smith in OsloOslo Rugby girls squad has managed to get hold of Graham Smith (Forwards Coach England Women) for two days in July.

The club hoped to get either Bislett or Frogner Stadium for the weekend to run the training camp over the 2 days, but it was finally at Tørteberg‎.

The camp was for Oslo Rugby Girls, juniors, coaches or other girls.

Graham Smith joined the England Women’s set-up as Assistant and Forwards Coach in 2003 on the back of a well-respected playing and coaching career.

A former England Under 23s international player and an England and Scotland squad member Graham was a powerhouse prop who also played club rugby for Wolverhampton, Moseley and Stourbridge. He also captained the Staffordshire County Championship team in 1997.

Graham first started coaching in 1984 but really concentrated his attentions on coaching as a career in the 1990s working with Moseley and Stourbridge prior to joining the Worcester Academy in 2001.

In 2003 he then moved to the RFUW to work alongside Geoff Richards, England Women’s Head Coach at the time.

Since he joined the RFUW Graham has been an instrumental figure in England’s success, which has seen them reach a Rugby World Cup Final in 2006, win four consecutive RBS 6 Nations titles and two Nations Cup victories. This year he will work alongside England Head Coach Gary Street as England aim to win the 2010 iRB Women’s Rugby World Cup on home soil.

Graham is a RFU Level 5 qualified Coach, an RFU Coach Educator and an iRB Coach Educator.
